MCAS Books and Materials

Summit offers MCAS materials in four areas: 

• High school-level Mathematics (Math A). 

• High school-level English Language Arts (ELA A). 

• Middle school-level Mathematics (Math B). 

• Middle school-level English Language Arts (ELA B).  

For all four sets, the materials break down as follows:  

A Student Set Includes:

A Summit Course Book The Course Book offers a balanced approach of skills and strategy, covering all the fundamental topics on the test, as well as the most current and effective test-taking techniques.  Each chapter covers a different MCAS topic and includes practice questions and problems so students can reinforce their acquired knowledge.  Students prepare for the exam by learning a ‘plan of attack’ for each question type on the MCAS.  If you would like to view a sample of the Summit MCAS Course Book, click here.

The Summit Pretest and Posttest Diagnostic tests are administered at the beginning and the end of the program.  These tests can be computer-analyzed at the Summit office, providing the instructor with score ranges and specific areas of strength and weakness.  The test analyses give teachers and administrators the data needed to support assessment of individual student progress.

An Annotated Instructor’s Edition The Instructor’s Edition of the Summit MCAS Course Book provides instructors with on-the-spot answers and explanations for problems.  It also includes suggestions on how to help students learn the skills and strategies most effectively.
