Your Questions, Answered
About the Transition
Why are Summit and Applerouth coming together?
Summit and Applerouth have worked alongside one another for years and share a similar approach to supporting students: personalized instruction, thoughtful student-tutor matching, and a sensible approach to testing that helps students build skills without adding unnecessary stress.
Since becoming sister companies within Guidewell Education in 2022, our collaboration has deepened across curriculum, tutor training, and student support. Operating under one brand allows us to build on that work and make the resources and expertise of both organizations more readily available to the students, families, schools, and educational consultants we serve.
What will stay the same?
The relationships and personal support you value will remain at the heart of how we work. Summit students will keep their current tutors and program directors. School partners and educational consultants will continue to work with the people they know and receive the same personalized support and thoughtful guidance they’ve come to expect.
What will change?
Beginning December 14, Summit and Applerouth will operate under a single name: Applerouth Education. You’ll see the Applerouth name across our website, communications, materials, and other resources currently associated with Summit.
Bringing the organizations together will also provide access to a broader tutor pool, expanded subject expertise, and curriculum and resources shaped by the experience of both organizations.
When does the change officially take place?
Summit and Applerouth will officially come together under the Applerouth name on December 14, 2026. We’ll keep you informed about what to expect as we approach the transition.
Is Summit being acquired by Applerouth?
No. Summit and Applerouth have been sister companies within Guidewell Education since 2022. This transition brings the two organizations under a single brand after years of collaboration.
Do I need to do anything right now?
No immediate action is required. If there are any changes that require action on your part, we’ll communicate with you directly and provide the information you need.
For Summit Students & Families
Will my student’s tutor change?
No. Your student will keep their current tutor unless you request a change. Maintaining the relationships students have already built with their tutors is an important part of this transition.
Will my program director change?
No. Your program director will remain in place and will continue to support your student and family.
Will my student’s tutoring experience change?
There are no immediate changes to your student’s tutoring sessions or how they work with their tutor. We’ll communicate with families in advance if any future system changes affect scheduling, login information, or how students access their sessions.
What additional resources will be available to my student?
As part of Applerouth, your family will have access to a broader tutor pool and expanded subject expertise. Summit students will also gain access to Applerouth’s self-paced online courses for the SAT, ACT, and SSAT. These additional resources provide more options if your student needs support in another subject, requires different scheduling, or wants to add another type of tutoring.
Will my current pricing change?
No, your pricing will remain the same for any current tutoring packages.
Will billing or payment change?
No. Receipts will say Applerouth Tutoring Services instead of Summit Educational Group, but your billing will otherwise continue as-is. If you have previously stored a credit card or authorized autopayment, those payment settings will persist.
Will my portal or login change?
No, your login credentials should remain the same. However, reach out to us if you have any issues accessing your account.
Will Summit email addresses change?
Yes. Beginning December 14, Summit email addresses will transition to Applerouth email addresses. Email forwarding will be in place, so messages sent to existing Summit addresses will still reach the intended recipient.
What if my student needs a different tutor or additional academic support?
Bringing Summit and Applerouth together gives families access to a broader tutor pool and expanded subject expertise. Your program director can help you explore options based on your student’s needs, schedule, and goals.
